STEP 01
Store clean and dry
Use a clean, dry storage area and packaging that protects precision surfaces. Follow the material-specific storage instructions supplied with the mold.
STEP 02
Prevent contact damage
Keep cavity surfaces from striking other parts. Use suitable separators and do not stack tooling in ways that load or scratch critical features.
STEP 03
Keep a tooling record
Identify each mold or tray, its compatible product, inspection status and maintenance history. Keep matched components together.
STEP 04
Inspect before reuse
Review joints, alignment and cavity condition before returning tooling to production. Stop using visibly damaged tooling until it has been assessed.
This is general preparation guidance. The approved instructions for your mold material, coating, formula and production procedure take priority.
